Okay, no dark side to the Valentine’s Day holiday but there comes a time when one finally has to dispose of the fading flowers. That day was today for me. My kindly husband, however, got me a second bouquet a few days after Valentine’s to supplement the vase arrangement but, they, too, were removed from the premises this morning aka thrown away. I snapped a quick picture of their final resting place in the kitchen trash before they left for good! Yes, I often get this philosophical before breakfast when I’m hungry!
Well, my husband didn’t exactly lie when he said he had to leave for work early this morning but when he showed up back home about 15 minutes later, I realized his use of wording. He never once said that he had to GET to work but LEAVE for work early . . . which gave him time to purchase a bouquet of Mother’s Day flowers for me. Since I don’t eat sugar, flour, or dairy, it makes gift buying a challenge but flowers fit the bill perfectly . . . except for our cat who is terrified of bouquets!
