So far, the first votes of the election season have been anything but stellar for the Republicans which leads me to wonder . . . Where were all the Republican voters that helped turn the tide on the Democrats in November 2016?
We still have a good many more state elections on list for 2018 and if the results continue with such a lack of enthusiasm on the part of the Republican voters we will face all the guaranteed promises of the Democrats listed above.
How soon the Republican voters seems to forget the joy the morning after voting November 2016. It was a pleasant surprise to the Republicans and, obviously, a horrible shock to the Democrats who believed what they wanted as that elections season progressed rather than recognize the snowball that was building momentum.
As we all know, from the moment the presidential votes were confirmed, it has been open season on Republicans and their elected choice for president. Given the turmoil, untruths perpetuated by the press, the grief of the Hollywood actors, and the subsequent verbal and physical attacks on anyone with some unapproved (by the left) bumper sticker or hat, you’d think the Republicans would have gathered forces to repeat their victory across the board again. Complacency just two years down the road from 2016 doesn’t bode well for the final election results of 2020.
Think about the previous eight years before the election of President Trump . . . Do you really want obama supported candidates to have a chance at our laws, our Constitution, and our freedoms, again?
I think Mike Huckabee has it figured out. The celebration of the 2016 election when the Republicans won the House and Senate was short lived. To quote Hillary in relation to all this: “What Difference Did It Make!”
Hillary Clinton is continuing her over a year-long hate tour on the subject of why President Trump stole the election from her. Of course, it has nothing to do with what she was promoting or the continued shadows of doubt covering her past and present actions. Nope, she didn’t take any of that into considering believing she was the best thing that could happen to the country and she had earned the right to be the first female present.
She went way out of bounds on her visit to India. In the year 2018, that she could claim such rampant white male chauvinism in declaring that said white males turned the election against her by forcing their wives, mothers, and sisters to vote for Trump . . . or else. Uh, or else what? What you tell someone your vote is, doesn’t mean that is actually where your vote went.
In addition to laying claim that white women are aided, abetted and forced to vote for the candidate of their choice rather than letting the woman decide her own vote is pretty weak. In some of my encounters, pre-election, I knew a lot of females who were asking that their husbands vote for Donald Trump.
Hillary Clinton seems to feel that challenging President Trump in the next presidential election will solidify her fan base and she will ultimately triumph. Seems to me that the voters spoke in 2016 and even with all the scheming, lies, and voter fraud, she still lost. Besides, I’m thinking the world has grown up more since 2016 and if they end up voting this woman into office after all, they will deserve what they get.
With every news report facing us each morning, most of us realize there is something really wrong going on in our world today. The fact that so many people seem to think everything is fine and work even harder toward causing division in the world is beyond belief especially when you consider the good such people could accomplish with common sense and a Christian attitude. Pipe dreams aside, you probably have trouble understanding the whys of so many events today.
The major issue that has always caused wrinkled foreheads trying to decipher the why of it all is the fact that if you hurt or kill a pregnant woman and, subsequently her unborn baby, you will be liable for murder of both the woman and the child. BUT, legally and up to the point of birth in some situations, it is very legal in our country to kill a baby in the womb without a problem of legality or a case of murder. When a concerned citizen exposed the selling of baby parts with proof in the Planned Parenthood clinics, the concerned citizen faces lawsuits and Planned Parenthood seems to be the victim . . . and babies still die needlessly.
Now we are faced with a lot of changes in our country and a multitude of refugees are flooding our borders. As good Americans, these people are provided for . . . while our veterans continue to receive substandard treatment in some cases and so many are actually homeless and mistreated. When I was growing up, my mother was generous with the little we had at the time but the family still came first even if we cut back a bit in order to help another. That doesn’t seem to be a priority today with the men and women who come back from war situations and have to fight for their lives to live here.
Although not nearly as rampant as Europe, we are experiencing hurt and death from some of the refugees who seek refuge here. Towns and cities are expected to take up the slack on this while the government keeps allowing more in than can be dealt with right now. Many of the Muslim refugees will not assimilate so we face many of their religious requirements that are not in line with life in America today. Welfare was stretching quite thin before this influx of refugees and isn’t getting any better now. You have to stop and think about how many citizens in our country do pay taxes and how much longer can we consider having the government look good and gracious on our hard-earned dime.
So many of the politicians we, the people, have voted into office care more about their agenda than represent the interests of the people who voted for them. Just this week, one politician was leading a crowd in chanting about impeaching the President. I know this isn’t a perfect world but with several other countries who wouldn’t mind seeing the United States fail and a small country who keeps trying to get their missiles to hit our coast, you would think petty difference and post-traumatic shock from the presidential election would be put aside in trying to protect and save our country.
The name calling, abrasive behavior, the distorted truths fire off from the losing side of the November 2016 election isn’t changing anyone’s mind about the way the votes went last year. They thwart every move President Trump makes and blurs the needs that have to be dealt with while they continue to obsess over the country’s rejection of their candidate’s election to office. There are gatherings (aka riots) most every week in mourning for their fantasies about how the world could have been perfect . . . if only.
Guess that common sense isn’t readily available these days. It certainly doesn’t seem to be coming from the halls of higher learning. We have a good many problems that need to be addressed soon in our country if only the world could come up with a miracle . . . not for the fountain of youth but for the sense needed to finally grow up.
Finally, a welcome voice of reason has spoken from our United States! And not a minute too soon, either. Bobby Kaufmann, a Republican State Representative says that he will be introducing a bill when the Iowa State Legislature resumes business in January. The name of the Bill is Suck It Up, Buttercup. An adult has spoken and has no sympathy for students (and professors!), that need time to mourn, color in coloring books, knead out their post-elections traumas with Play-Doh, and whimper even as they sip on hot chocolate all in aid of their tender, fractured feelings because the election went according to the laws of the land and not their way.
The snowflake space patrols have been rustling around for awhile now with the advent of ‘safe spaces’ but it was a positive blizzard when the elections voted in more sense than the usual rhetoric. Even though I’m willing to bet a lot of them didn’t even vote, it hit the poor babies hard so exams were cancelled, classes were dismissed, and they gathered in large groups to share in their devastating sorrow . . . and create mayhem, damage, and hurt upon other people. Funny how their guarded sensitivities never once were granted favor to innocent people who happened to get in their way as in driving home from WORK, taking sick people to the doctors, wanting to go grocery shopping in safety, etc., instead of dealing with milling crowds of grief-stricken snowflakes unable to face an adult situation (like an election!) with anything even close to maturity.
The Bill proposed by Representative Bobby Kaufmann, Suck It Up, Buttercup, would deal with taxpayer-funded state universities with a budget cut for DOUBLE the amount they spend on pampering, election-related activities. This would not, of course, take away from therapy and mental health services for real problems.
Just thinking about these college ‘students’ wandering around in a saddened daze and wanting to impeach President-Elect Donald Trump and who knows what other ideas shows how little college is actually preparing students for life after college.
Some of the things Representative Kaufmann reported hearing about were Play-Doh, coloring books, safe spaces to talk out your feelings without contradiction and even some schools bringing in ponies. How are these ‘children’ going to handle the real world? If, God forbid, this country ever goes to war, afraid they won’t be finding any ‘safe spaces’ to get away from the loud report of weaponry when they are called up to defend their nation.
It is refreshing to find a voice of reason being raised and if you want to keep track of his progress with the Bill, just search ‘Suck It Up, Buttercup’ on Facebook.
