President Trump vs. The Oprah

So . . . The Oprah is being singled out as a possible contender for the office of president in the next presidential election. From the get go, the media has demeaned President Trump as being more than insufficient for the job yet the current state of the union and economy reflect a much different picture. I have to wonder exactly what The Oprah would bring to the table to insure the continuation of the United States in freedom and peace. I’ve seen her shed a lot of crocodile tears over the years but never seen her make a solid, well-thought out statement on politics or the world. Seemingly, she is riding on her visibility rather than her intelligence. Yes, she is a good business woman but being the dictator of her own companies, is a bit different than knowing what you are doing in the world wide view.

An interview with her on the current world situation would be interesting as she might spend more time changing the subject to something she can apply in the form of an answer. I remember her glorifying the economic system in Denmark where everyone gets an education for free, everyone works, everything is accessible to everyone one. She didn’t research the massive income tax in the country that keeps people struggling.

She extolled obamacare so how would she defend that now in a presidential debate. As we know, it didn’t work, cost money, and left a lot of people formerly insured without a reasonable policy. Does she have an answer to that or would she just go to a one-payer system where everyone (except The Oprah) would get the same miserable medical attention. England is giving signs of a one-payer going wrong but would The Oprah do real research or weep tears to show her feelings which is easier than dealing – Hashtag#So sad, too bad!

I know how the separation of Church and State would go under her rule. She publically made her case about Christianity years ago. I remember an interview she had with a delightful group of nuns on her show (the only reason I watched the show that day!) and a constant refrain to their celibate choice of life was, “What about sex?” Sex won’t last into eternity but God will although God doesn’t seem too high on her list of priorities. Given her lifestyle choices, the Ten Commandments aren’t high on her list of things to do . . . or not do.

And how would she deal with racism? Again, she publically stated that the problem with racism in the country are the old people who were raised racist and haven’t changed their way. She put out her ‘cure’ in an interview.

Also, I’ve not heard her view on massive immigration, illegal immigration, terrorism, etc. Guess she doesn’t even think about the wall as she has lived in safety and protection. Anyway, a The Oprah vs. President Trump campaign should be interesting. President Trump has proof that he knows how to help and make laws for the country and The Oprah has minions to protect her from the hard questions and set traps for President Trump.

As mentioned before, we have people that PRAY while The Oprah has those that PREY.

Suck It Up, Buttercup!

Finally, a welcome voice of reason has spoken from our United States! And not a minute too soon, either. Bobby Kaufmann, a Republican State Representative says that he will be introducing a bill when the Iowa State Legislature resumes business in January. The name of the Bill is Suck It Up, Buttercup. An adult has spoken and has no sympathy for students (and professors!), that need time to mourn, color in coloring books, knead out their post-elections traumas with Play-Doh, and whimper even as they sip on hot chocolate all in aid of their tender, fractured feelings because the election went according to the laws of the land and not their way.

The snowflake space patrols have been rustling around for awhile now with the advent of ‘safe spaces’ but it was a positive blizzard when the elections voted in more sense than the usual rhetoric. Even though I’m willing to bet a lot of them didn’t even vote, it hit the poor babies hard so exams were cancelled, classes were dismissed, and they gathered in large groups to share in their devastating sorrow . . . and create mayhem, damage, and hurt upon other people. Funny how their guarded sensitivities never once were granted favor to innocent people who happened to get in their way as in driving home from WORK, taking sick people to the doctors, wanting to go grocery shopping in safety, etc., instead of dealing with milling crowds of grief-stricken snowflakes unable to face an adult situation (like an election!) with anything even close to maturity.

The Bill proposed by Representative Bobby Kaufmann, Suck It Up, Buttercup, would deal with taxpayer-funded state universities with a budget cut for DOUBLE the amount they spend on pampering, election-related activities. This would not, of course, take away from therapy and mental health services for real problems.

Just thinking about these college ‘students’ wandering around in a saddened daze and wanting to impeach President-Elect Donald Trump and who knows what other ideas shows how little college is actually preparing students for life after college.

Some of the things Representative Kaufmann reported hearing about were Play-Doh, coloring books, safe spaces to talk out your feelings without contradiction and even some schools bringing in ponies. How are these ‘children’ going to handle the real world? If, God forbid, this country ever goes to war, afraid they won’t be finding any ‘safe spaces’ to get away from the loud report of weaponry when they are called up to defend their nation.

It is refreshing to find a voice of reason being raised and if you want to keep track of his progress with the Bill, just search ‘Suck It Up, Buttercup’ on Facebook.

Pre-Election Observation.

Deep sigh listening to the readings at Mass this morning. It was on Maccabees relating to the widow and her sons that had rather face a tortured death than eat pork which was against their religion. Father explained that in today’s world, we would wonder about how important eating or not eating pork would really be. Father said it was their Jewish faith of long standing and the rules and laws of their religion meant something important to them. To break any of the laws, even that of eating pork would be like a ‘death’ to their soul. Guess with the past two elections, a lot of Catholics took their political party a lot more seriously than possibly following all the dictates of our religion. Praying that in this historical election coming up, they think twice on their vote and leave Hillary in the dust and vote for the party that has more concern for the unborn. The last two elections got obama into office with over 50% of the Catholic vote. Should be interesting on Election Day to find out how many Catholics decided to eat the ‘pork’ again this time around and leave some laws of their faith in the dust.
